the jolibee party this afternoon was a blast. the kids had lots of fun. i was busy eating the whole time. =P maddie fell asleep on the way there...so she took a quick 10 minute nap. she wasn't in a friendly mood when we got there. it took her 10 minutes and some spaghetti before she started walking around and joining the games. Ü she even joined musical chairs with my cousin. Ü funny cause the last 3 people were maddie (carried by my cousin), mick and the birthday boy. then mick was eliminated. =P so my cousin let the birthday boy win. =P before we left for the party, mick and i were watching movie after movie on directv. when we got back from the party, we continued our movie watching.

i missed sooo many shows this week! good thing i can watch them all online. Ü let's see...wednesday, all i did was rest. in the afternoon, we (my mom, maddie and i) went to a carmelite monastery with a family friend to ask the nuns to pray for maddie. we got home early, so i was able to watch all my shows that night. Ü yesterday, we went to san mateo to meet santi's friend. i missed ugly betty and grey's. i ended up watching the shows today. Ü i just looooove abc.com and nbc.com. =P oh...and cwtv.com too. Ü tomorrow we're going to a birthday party and on sunday we're going to marine world. Ü i haven't been there in years! think the last time i went was in the 80s. =P

oh...lately maddie's been soooo amusing! =P she loves saying "hey!". she started doing that sometime last month. =P like if she's talking to you and you don't notice her, she'll shout "hey" then stomp her foot. =P or if mick does something to her like push her. she also yelled "hey" to a little boy who kinda pushed her tummy while we were waiting for mick last week. when the boy pushed her, she looked at me all shocked. then when the boy walked away, she yelled "hey" then let out a loud sigh. Ü sometimes she'll copy whatever i'm saying in a cute voice and smile soooo adorably that i wanna bite her. =P like when i was helping mick with his math homework yesterday. i was explaining stuff to mick and pointing at the examples in his book and she was copying exactly what i was doing. =P she's sooooo darn cute! Ü and she likes saying there it is. like if i ask her where something is and she doesn't know...she'll reply "i dunno". then when she finds it, she'll say "det is". =P hehehe...too cute! of course she has her bratty moments as well. =P but it's ok cause her hysterically adorable moments are worth it. Ü

when i woke up this morning, my head was throbbing. guess it's from yesterday's lack of rest and sleep. plus, every time i sat down today, i'd stand back up cause i'd remember i'd have to do something. i finally made the cauliflower and zucchini puree for maddie's mac and cheese. she didn't notice the difference. =P so she'll be getting her vegetables every day without her knowing. Ü i love my new book. =P hmmm....i had to do 3 loads of laundry...which meant i had to fold 3 loads. and in between i'd do the usual everyday things like wash the dishes, clean, etc. *sigh* it's times like these that make me miss the philippines. =P at least maddie had a blast today playing with water. while my dad washed the cars, she washed her ride-on toy, got wet and eventually sat in the bucket full of soap. =P oh...and i finally got to watch the heroes episode i missed last night. Ü i ♥ heroes! i also got to watch a new show called reaper earlier. Ü it's funny. Ü

i'm soooooooo tired! we did almost everything i posted about this morning...plus and minus a few things. we went to costco, dropped off my mom to work, went to the mall for a couple of hours, picked up my mom, went to kumon, took off the plastic casing at the library (totally forgot to pick up the book i was supposed to), went to safeway, ate dinner at home, went to my mom's friend's house to fix her printer, then finally got home around 10:30pm. i didn't get to watch any of the shows i wanted to today. =0( guess i'll have to watch online tomorrow. *sigh* i'm gonna go to bed now. night night!

the kids and i ended up skipping the festival on saturday. mick was supposed to perform with his class, but he wasn't feeling well. both of them had a cold and mick had a nasty cough. plus, the weather didn't help. it was raining off and on. we ended up bumming around at home. =P as for yesterday, i went to the festival around 6pm since my shift was 6:30-10:30pm. everything closed at 8pm, so i had to help clean after. my mom said that maddie was pretty good while i was gone. when i got home, she was asleep on her bed. Ü


today, we gotta go to costco, the library and mick's kumon. gotta pick up another book and mick forgot to have the plastic case taken off from the ps2 game he borrowed. =P oh...gotta go to safeway too. think i'll get the ingredients for maddie's mac and cheese. =P there's a secret sauce i wanna try out from the new book i got. =P hopefully she likes it. Ü oh yeah! it's premiere week this week. guess i'll be a couch potato starting tonight. =P it's dancing with the stars and heroes! Ü gotta check out the tv guide and write down all the shows i need to watch. i kinda like gossip girl on wednesdays too. =P

maddie and i went to the mall to have breakfast before picking up mick. we ended up going to the library after all. i recently bought two books, one cookbook for maddie =P, then borrowed two from the library about heart defects. now i don't know which to read first. =P

thanks camille for maddie's belated birthday present! =P she absolutely looooves it! Ü oh...that bottom pic was taken after she had pizza and some cake mix. =P i made cupcakes this afternoon. Ü

well...all we did today was go to my mom's friend's house, drop off my mom at work, pick up mick and took him to kumon. Ü think we'll go to the library tomorrow if my books are ready for pick up. =P mick's only half day cause the autumn festival starts tomorrow. Ü we'll be there on saturday for mick's performance. then i gotta go back on sunday night for my 4 hours of family service. whatta busy weekend!

thank you to everyone who left comments and messages and sent emails with love, concern and prayers. Ü thanks! i wasn't able to sleep well last night. maybe cause maddie was tossing and turning too (it might be cause of her cold which started on monday). she eventually started sleeping well around 4am. =P that's when i couldn't go back to sleep. i got up around 5am and started googling her condition. =P think i'll write down all the questions i have for the cardiologist since i wasn't able to ask anything yesterday. anyways, all we did today was drop off my mom to work, pick up a few things at the grocery and go to borders. after, maddie and i picked up mick and took an afternoon nap. =P before i start getting ready for bed, just wanna say thanks again to everyone and hope you recover soon, tatay! Ü like santi said...you and maddie should've done the operation together. =P

ouch...my head hurts. not sure if it's cause of the news we got earlier. the pediatric cardiologist informed us that maddie has a hole in her heart. the doctor explained that babies are born with a hole in the wall of their heart that closes on it's own. but maddie's gap won't close cause it's too big. she has an asd, or atrial septal defect. we have two options: either a cardiac catheterization or open heart surgery. we'll see the cardiologist again in december to discuss the options and to monitor how maddie's doing. she said that maddie may have been a bit bigger (a pound or two heavier), if it weren't for the extra work her heart is doing.

while i heard all this, i wanted to break down and cry. i needed santi to be there...to hold my hand...to give me a hug. =0( as soon as i got home, i wanted to tell him. too bad his phones were off. before picking up mick though, i saw him online. after chatting with him for a while, i felt a little better. i really need you here, sweetie.

today was maddie's appointment with the pediatric cardiologist. she needed an electrocardiogram, an echo transthoracic and a doppler echo exam. i think i'll post the results after i talk to santi.

anyways, yesterday was fun. we visited ces in san francisco and ate at wolfgang puck express at union square. the food was pretty good. Ü we also had some ben and jerry's. Ü since maddie, my mom and i were at san francisco, my dad dropped off and picked up mick. it was his first day at kumon and he enjoyed. when i got home, he was busy doing his kumon packet. =P oh...we didn't get to see sam though. =0( thought we'd be able to play with him for a bit. hopefully ces brings him by on friday. *hint, hint ces* =P oh...here are a few pics from sunday and yesterday. on friday, my mom and i went to the dentist for a cleaning. maddie just watched from her stroller. =P we picked up mick after, drove my mom to her friend's house, went to toys r us to get a present for mick's classmate, went home for 30 minutes then picked up my mom again so we could go to the mall. she had to meet someone there, so we walked around a bit then strolled over to my cousin's place to rest while waiting for my mom. =P thanks rich and arlene for having us over! Ü we ended up meeting my mom at the thai restaurant before going home. both kids fell asleep before we left around 10pm. =P then yesterday, we were at mick's classmate's birthday party from noon til 5:30pm. talk about two long days in a row! no wonder all i wanted to do today was sleep. =P ok...gotta go to bed now. we're meeting ces tomorrow in san francisco. Ü i can't wait to see sam! Ü

yesterday, we all went to san mateo after picking up mick to drop off something for santi. he sent us yema and chips. thanks sweetie! i was supposed to do more, like take maddie to santana row, but my mom took a nap and my dad went to get a smog test. =P so instead of going to san mateo before picking up mick, we went after. if only i knew we weren't gonna leave at 11am, i would've done other things. *sigh* oh well.

we ended up going to santana row today, though. Ü we had dinner at pizza antica for my mom's birthday. Ü happy birthday mom and thanks for dinner! =P i'll post a pic tomorrow. darn dial up takes too long! =0( i'm sleepy and i don't wanna wait. =P night!

such a busy day! maddie had a pedia appointment at 9:30am. she's super petite! =P the pedia isn't worried though cause she had a blood test 6 months ago and everything was fine. she's just really petite. *sigh*

the pedia is referring us to a specialist, though, cause he heard a heart murmur. he said it might not be anything to worry about, but he wants to have her checked just to be sure. he wants to see her again in 2 months to check her weight and to get a flu shot. her immunization has been complete ever since she was 18 months, so she'll get the next one when she's around 4 (when she goes to school). Ü

after the pedia, we went to toys r us since i still owed her a birthday present. as soon as we walked in the door, she saw the new disney princess dvd. =P so the whole time we were there, she was holding on to it. she'd see something now and then and pick it up, but i'd let her choose which one she wanted. she really wanted the dvd. =P after toys r us, we went to circuit city to get something for santi then i had to go to the bank. got home around noon...just in time for my soap opera. =P too bad i didn't get to watch the whole thing. i was busy making copies and scans and getting envelopes ready. before picking up mick, we passed by the post office so i could mail a few things. then after his dismissal, we checked out a kumon branch that's located next to his school. he's been wanting to join kumon for the longest time. we set up an assessment test for thursday afternoon. Ü when we got home, we rested a bit then went to the store with my parents. we were there forever! my mom kept on getting stuff for maddie. =P she already gave maddie a necklace this morning for maddie's birthday. Ü she ended up buying more stuff like a princess watch, rubber bands for her hair, tinkerbell underwear, princess rings and cookies. =P the only reason we went to the store was cause my dad promised mick a ps2 game. maddie was the one who ended up with lotsa stuff! =P right after the store, we went to visit my grandma. we stayed there til 7pm. talk about a looong day. maddie fell asleep at my grandma's...didn't wake up til we left...then went back to sleep when we got home. =P she's knocked out. Ü

oh...i got another call today from one of the places i submitted my resume to. i finally followed up last friday's call too. gotta go to their office tomorrow to fill out something and take an assessment test. tomorrow's gonna be busy also. gotta meet santi's friend in the morning to pick stuff up and give him something. then i wanted to take maddie somewhere from 10-12noon. then i still gotta do that test thing. arrggghhh! sooo much to do!

our comcast high speed was disconnected yesterday. =0( back to dial-up. =0( it's soooooo sloooooow! anyways, all i did yesterday was finish my resume and apply online. i submitted it to 30+ posts and got one call in the afternoon. too bad i don't have my cellphone yet. i ended up writing down the info from the voicemail, but i didn't call her back. think i'll call back on monday. we went to great mall after picking up mick. thanks tita estelit for lunch and maddie's present. Ü we came home with a princess dress-up backpack that maddie wouldn't take off while we were at the toy store. =P ok...think i'll cook some breakfast now. Ü we're planning to stay home the whole day today to clean. my mom's arriving tomorrow from the philippines. =P

we left a little early this afternoon since i had to go to the post office, bank and dennis uniform. before leaving though, i gave maddie a bath. she ended up falling asleep on the way to the post office. =P she woke up after i bought mick's p.e. uniform. =P can't believe she slept while i took her outta the car to go to the bank, when i put her back into the car to go to dennis uniforms, when i took her outta her car seat to buy mick's uniform and when i put her back into the car to go to mick's school. =P anyways, i took a few pics of her before we left the house. here are a couple of them. Ü think i'll finish up my resume now and start submitting them online. Ü

i think we're over our jet lag...i hope. we've started waking up later and later...thank goodness. today we woke up around 5am. =P better than 3 or 4am. Ü guess we wake up early cause me and maddie sleep early...as in 7pm early. =P sometimes earlier like 5pm. today was the first day i didn't take an afternoon nap. i usually feel super sleepy by 2pm, so as soon as we get home from picking up mick, i end up sleeping. so my so called "nap" ends up not being a nap. =P i end up sleeping straight til 1am or so, then i fall asleep a couple hours later til 4:30am. =P anyways, right after dropping off mick this morning, we went to safeway to get a few things. when we picked up mick from school in the afternoon we went straight to circuit city to buy something for santi. oh yeah...maddie said "mick school" when we got to the parking lot of sjb. =P she's starting to talk more and more everyday. Ü wonder when she'll start speaking straight? =P ok...back to what we did today. around 8pm, my dad, the kids and i went to san mateo to drop off stuff for santi. good thing maddie slept the entire time. she actually fell asleep at 7:30pm tonight. Ü hope she sleeps til 6am tomorrow. =P guess i'll go to sleep now. night night!

man...just when i thought our jet lag was getting better, we started sleeping at weird times. =P like today...i just woke up. i was planning on taking a nap when i fell asleep around 5pm. guess my body needed an almost 7 hour nap. =P thought maddie would stay awake while i took a nap, but she ended up sleeping too...and she's still asleep. =P i hate being jet lagged! grrr! anyways, can't believe my lil' diva's turning 2 in 2 minutes. =P

wow! it's september already! Ü pretty soon it'll be december. Ü anyways, we've been sleeping for the past few days. thursday was the first time i had to take mick to school and pick him up with maddie. we've been waking up around 4:30am so i wasn't scared about him being late. the only problem was when it was time to pick him up. i didn't wanna sleep til i picked him up cause i was scared i'd oversleep and miss his dismissal. =P so thursday was pretty hard on me. i was soooo sleepy by the time it hit 1pm. after picking up mick, we went to the library for an hour. maddie was sooo excited. =P she borrowed two dvds while mick borrowed 5 books. =P he finished one whole book that day. Ü when we got home, my head was starting to hurt since i was soooo tired. i told mick to finish up his homework and let me take a nap for a couple hours. we all ended up taking a nap. maddie and i woke up around 9pm. =P we slept again around 1am but woke up around 4:30am. so yesterday, i decided to take the kids to the mall then to my cousin's house after picking up mick. i didn't wanna go home too early since we'd end up sleeping. Ü good idea. Ü by 8pm, maddie asked to go home. =P she wanted to go downstairs to put on her shoes so i asked if she wanted to go home. she said yes and kissed everyone goodbye. =P as soon as i started the car, both the kids were asleep. Ü maddie and i slept from 8:30pm til 4:30am. maddie ended up falling asleep again around 6:30am. she's still asleep now. =P hopefully we get over our jet lag by this weekend. Ü
